Rock Bluff Springs beckons adventurers seeking aquatic wonders. To reach this haven, embark from Branford by first heading west on US 27 from the Suwannee River bridge. After approximately 1.3 miles, turn left onto CR 349, and journey for about 10.5 miles until you intersect with CR 340. A left turn onto CR 340 leads you eastward for around 3.3 miles to Rock Bluff boat landing, situated on the river’s eastern bank. The spring’s 750-foot run meets the Suwannee River’s east side about 0.25 miles upstream from the Rock Bluff Landing.

The pool’s floor boasts the intricate textures of exposed limestone and sand.

Features and Surroundings

Venture closer to the spring, and you’ll find a smaller circular vent opening, around 20 feet south of the main vent. This opening, measuring about 1.5 feet in diameter, generates a noticeable boil on the pool’s surface due to its discharge. A rock retaining wall frames the northern edge of the pool, where resilient cypress trees sway in harmony with the breeze, both within the pool and along its boundary. As the spring run extends southwest for approximately 750 feet, it meets the Suwannee River from the east, forging a graceful confluence with the river’s flow.
