The path to Treehouse Spring is navigable and offers a touch of adventure. Found near the confluence of US 441/41 and CR 236 (Main Street) in High Springs, begin by driving north on US 441/41 for approximately 1.2 miles. As you continue, watch for a public access boat sign just before the Santa Fe River. This marks your transition westward (left) towards the river. You’ll find Treehouse Spring nestled 0.6 miles upstream from the boat ramp, delicately positioned on the southeast side of the river.
A Glimpse of Nature’s Artistry
Treehouse Spring unveils itself within a circular cove gracing the southeastern stretch of the Santa Fe River. The spring’s waters flow westward, contributing to the river’s allure. The spring pool’s dimensions span 125 feet from north to south and 175 feet from east to west. As you peer into its depths, you’ll discover a pool depth of 31 feet over the vent. The water’s color presents a tannic hue, and during a visit in October 2001, no spring boil was observed. Amidst the dark water, water hyacinth thrived as the only non-native plant species. Other vegetation remained hidden beneath the water’s surface. The land surrounding the spring is characterized by a forested lowland floodplain. Notably, the nearest high ground stands around 150 feet to the east, rising 10-12 feet higher than the floodplain. This elevated land boasts a mixture of hardwoods and pines, enhancing the natural landscape.

Treehouse Spring, also known as ALA112971 according to Hornsby and Ceryak (1998), remains an unspoiled paradise nestled within privately owned land.
