A Mesmerizing Description

Weeki Wachee Spring emanates from the base of a conical depression, characterized by gentle slopes on its sides. The spring pool’s dimensions span 165 feet from east to west and 210 feet from north to south. As you peer into its depths, you’ll encounter a spring depth of 45 feet over the vent, positioned centrally within the pool. While the immediate edges of the pool lack exposed limestone, bare limestone can be found near the vent. The water, crystal-clear with a touch of light greenish-blue, captures the eye. Delicate, filamentous algae blanket the spring’s floor, accompanied by native aquatic grasses that grace the pool’s interior. The spring’s aquatic realm thrives with an array of fresh and saltwater fish as well as aquatic turtles.
